Hexham Book Festival

Where?: Queen’s Hall Arts, Hexham

What?: Based in Northumbria, this book festival highlights the best of Northumbrian culture as well as holding family events and school events.  Tickets for many other smaller meet and greets and readings are available before and after the main festival!

Annual Lancaster History Lecture

When?: 7PM 20th March 2024

Where?: Margaret Fell Lecture Theatre at Lancaster University

What? : A Litfest held at Lancaster University involving a History Lecture from Sathnam Sanghera who will speak to the importance of history and the humanities in understanding the world – and in shaping the world – and discuss the legacies of the British Empire across the globe, drawing on his new book Empireworld.



I am shocked to learn of the death of the wonderful poet, author and actor ( Peaky Blinders) Benjamin Zephaniah. I have had the pleasure of interviewing him, having long chats about wildlife in our gardens, and sharing dinner with him in a local vegan restaurant. I honestly couldn’t be more sad. What a huge loss for us all.
